For many years, we have been researching the user interface of self-service devices. We analyzed the infrastructure of devices across all banks in Lithuania and organized user testing sessions. Through this work, we achieved a universal and versatile framework for ATM design.
During the creation of the user interface, numerous factors were taken into consideration: the technical features and limitations of ATMs, positive practices of touch devices, the use of self-service devices under different weather and lighting conditions, banking services, and so on. We prepared an optimal information architecture, minimized the number of steps, and tested the created environment with real users, taking their preferences into account. In terms of design, the framework can be adapted for any bank with just a few button clicks.
